A year ago, YPO conducted a survey with UN Women HeForShe on gender equality and women’s paths to the C-Suite. On a positive note, 60 percent of chief executives reported their organizations were more diverse than they were five years ago. But significant challenges remain as female leaders’ paths to the top take longer and are stymied by societal expectations, unconscious biases and legacy gender roles. In February 2022, we asked, “What has changed?” To answer this question, YPO asked its members a few of the inquiries from the original survey and found that many challenges remained and were exacerbated for chief executives. In this conversation, we will reflect on what has changed in the past year and how to implement the strategies and solutions that can really make a difference in achieving gender parity.
