AAPI is larger than its definition. It’s a vibrant celebration of diverse cultures and rich histories from across the world. This Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, The FQ is taking a deeper look into the nuances of the AAPI community as we acknowledge the many faces, innovators, and leaders of our lifetime. Join us as we highlight the impactful stories of AAPI leaders who are breaking down barriers, unpack representation of AAPI storytellers in the media, and discover the pathway to generational healing.
The acronym “AAPI” was coined to widely represent Asian heritage. Although this term was devised to be more inclusive, it still doesn’t fully capture the many experiences and identities that exist within the Asian community. This conversation will explore how the Asian experience varies from nationality and appearances to cultural barriers and differences, and how we can embrace AAPI people from every perspective.
