In collaboration with an incredible group of FQ Global Pack hosts from Europe, we invite you to join us on the evening of Wednesday, September 29th. We will celebrate the dynamic, multi-dimensional ideas of the women across Europe with strength and resilience to reimagine the nation along with women who represent the next generation. As sisters we will come together to unite the world through the power of women.
Please forward this invitation to 10 women in your community to join this virtual gathering and to welcome them into the FQ Global Pack. We can multiply in an act of kindness and bring more women to the table, together.
You'll hear from an Afghan social activist and human rights advocate known for her protests against the Taliban takeover. She'll tell her story of the first time she came face-to-face with a Talib in her life, and share her hopes for our international community of women to form a network to protect their rights, and their lives.
For the Afghan women who were able to evacuate, they will face a new set of challenges as they resettle in countries around the world. How can we help refugees foster a new way of life where they have access to safe and clean shelter, job placement, education, mental health resources and financial opportunity? Tune in to hear stories that will challenge your perspective on the state of refugees today and compel you to take action to assist the women, children and families fleeing Afghanistan.

There’s the famous saying, “If she can see it, she can be it.” This quote attests to the lack of representation of women across industries, especially in positions of power. Today, we are talking with women who were “the first” in their fields: Lilian Garcia, the first female to host a WrestleMania, and Yvonne Thompson, the founder and director of the UK's first Black Music radio station. As they knocked down barriers for themselves in the radio and entertainment sectors, they also paved the way for women to follow in their footsteps. We will discuss the obstacles they encountered in predominantly male industries and how their careers will impact the next generation of young women and girls.
Since the onset of the pandemic, women have exited the workforce at alarming rates, and they are increasingly experiencing remote work burnout—largely due to increased caretaking demands coupled with a lack of childcare options. This trend is true for women in Europe as well. As more women are forced to leave the workforce or take low paying jobs that meet their remote work needs, the race to close the wage gap continues to come to a halt.
How will we tell the story of the past year and a half to future generations? How will we paint a picture of how we dealt with the adversity of our day? Will we be triumphant or will we crumble in the face of so many obstacles?
Writer Melissa Fay Greene of The Atlantic explains that in order to give our lives meaning, we tend to lay out our past experiences almost like short stories or screenplays; our plots (whether they have silver linings or hopeful endings) can reveal something about how we handle setbacks and overcome obstacles.
In this discussion, we'll hear from working mothers on the story of today’s evolving care economy and how they are juggling remote work (or hybrid models) with parenting. We will discuss how telling our stories has the power to transform workplace culture and make this time in history a pivotal one not just for us, but for future generations.
